We are back in!

All building works identified in the detailed structural assessment of Te Kete Wānanga (the Whitireia Learning Centre (Library) have now been completed.

Along with the work that was required to be carried out as a result of the assessment, we also took the opportunity to replace the carpet throughout the building and purchase new shelving and have this installed. The new carpet is down and the shelving is in. So, we are pleased to advise that we are now in a position to re-open Te Kete Wananga on Monday 27 March.

It is important to note, that when the building does re-open on Monday, study spaces will be available as will computers and staff but, books will not. We are working on getting the books back in and set-up on the new shelving but this is a big task and will be completed as soon as possible.

New off-campus access


Access to the library electronic resources through a new portal is now complete.  The library wishes to apologise for the small window when access was not available and are very pleased to present our new access point to the e-resources.

Student logon from off campus only:
Your login is Whitireia\studentid  (if this does not work leave the Whitireia domain name out)
Your password is the password you use to get onto Whitireia computers

Staff logon from off campus only:
Your login is Whitireia\networklogon (if this does not work leave the Whitireia domain name out)
Your password is your network password

Once you are logged on you will see a list of databases for you to select from.  Select the database and start searching.  Some of the databases are not fully working yet but the main ones are.  Others will come online over the next few days.
